About Me

Hi, I'm Aoife and I guess, first things first. The vast majority of you are going to have no idea how to pronounce my very Irish, overly vowel-ed name! Here's a little youtube video to help you out:

I started sewing in early 2012 with a simple patchwork quilt for my very first niece! While I was trying to figure out how to quilt and bind I found a lot of really great sewing blogs. They were utterly addictive and by summer 2012 I was taking an online class and making my second baby quilt on the side! You can have a look at all the finished quilts, clothes, and toys I've made in the 2012 and 2013 gallery pages.

I'm currently trying out as many different techniques and tutorials as I can find, mainly focusing on quilts and clothes. But I did recently make my first bag and I loved it! So there will be more of that too :) I'm back living in Washington D.C. since mid-Spring. The DC Modern Quilt Guild have been really lovely and let me join their ranks. It's the first time I've gotten to meet real live in-person quilters and it rocks! 

I'm not really sure what to write about in an about page. So I'll add to this over the next few weeks as I get people to read it and give feedback, if you have a question or wonderment then post it as a comment or email me and I'll get it all up here!
